BIG OIL RESISTANCE TOUR - ARVIN, CA / LAMONT, CA 2023
COMMUNITY ACTION – LAMONT REFINERY
On Sunday, May 7, 2023, residents of Arvin and Lamont, CA united to oppose oil drilling in California. Francisco Gonzalez, an Arvin resident, bravely shared his family’s experiences of the detrimental effects caused by the oil and gas industry. The Oil and Gas Network organized a community action event as part of the Big Oil Resistance Tour in Lamont, CA. The event featured a panel of local advocates, including Tefere Gebre, Chief Program Officer of GreenPeace USA, alongside community residents. During the gathering, residents passionately expressed their stories, raised concerns about health and safety risks, and paid tribute to those whose lives have been affected by big oil
