Statewide Pesticide Application Notification System (SprayDays California)
California’s Department of Pesticide Regulation, SprayDays, a pesticide notification plan omits exact spray locations, sparking community outrage. Residents demand transparency, calling this environmental racism. They are not asking to end pesticide use but to be informed of when and where applications will occur to protect their health and families. Opponents cite farmer privacy, but business locations are public, and Notices of Intent already include this data. It’s time to acknowledge the harm being caused and share crucial information with those directly affected. At public hearings, community members calling for exact locations outnumbered those opposing. It is evident that California’s pivotal communities need and demand this information.
We have until August 1 to demand CDPR include exact locations. Submit your comments online or by phone.
